In another thread I commented that I gave up on a game because it was so infuriating, but it also got me thinking about other games I stopped playing.

Most recently, I stopped playing RDR2 and The Last of Us 2. Both were great, but for whatever reason didn't pull me in as much as their predecessors. (Games, I might add, I LOVE.) For RDR2, the minutia of changing clothes based on weather and feeding your horse oats was really obnoxious. I want to be an outlaw in the old west; I don't want to bail hay.

As for The Last of Us, I didn't get too far into it, but wasn't particularly thrilled with some of the story decisions. I think the fact that the original trailers gave so much of the story up, I didn't really like the whole "hey, let's build up this relationship even though you know what's going to happen to her" angle.

I admit, in both cases I will probably pick them up again. I am surprised at how easily I was able to stop playing and how little of a pull I feel to start them up again.

Do you have any games that are currently on hold indefinitely?

Watchdogs loved the first one but after The rest were trash

It's Bioshock for me. It's a good game but I can't seem to convince myself to ever finish it.

The original? I can appreciate that. It's dark - figuratively and literally. As far as I am concerned, if you can suffer through it it would be worth it so you could play Bioshock Infinite. As far as I am concerned, Ken Levine hit his peak with that one.

Been a long time player of Hearthstone, but with all the expansions and changes in the gold system it’s really hard to keep up. Not sure if commercializing the game to this extent was the right way to go. Seems like Blozzard is losing many players as a result

i bought sekiro pre released, and tried, but for some reasons, i was not in the mood to play it, or not good at all
tried a lot, but only get frustrade

last year, on december, i tried again, and finished the game, i was so happy to tried again and the capacity to finish it, it was really precious for me, after a year of the launch of the game, finally finishing it.

After beating dark souls 2 I was pumped for 3 but just got bored and never finished it

It seems like everything I try ends up in the "gave up" pile eventually. Recently I re-tried Crossout, but it only lasted a couple of weeks before it got boring. It's a really long list.

Minecraft, ever since they sold to Microsoft the direction of the game changed and became too commercialised

Im a guy who likes to play game in order NO MATTER WHAT. My friends told me to try Persona 5 so naturally I started playing Persona 1. I got to the last dungeon and stopped there. It feels like too much of a grind to clear it... idk i might just move on to Persona 2 but damn I hate giving up on games like that

I only played demon souls for like 10 mins each time i did. I played and resold it. I got it when it came out.

I have this childhood frustration with Valkyrie Profile for never managing to finish it, no matter how many times I restarted. I tried different things, but at some point in the game where there is a sudden difficulty increase or DPS check if you will, I just can't beat anything anymore, and fail forever. I even used gamefaqs for help but nope, while friends finished it no problem.

The call of duty franchise. I realized that it ends up being the same thing every single year with no changes or fixes to what the community asks for. It's as if they hit the reset button every new game.
