I've been using Macbooks for years but considering switching back to Windows - it's just cheaper and Windows 10 seems to be much better. Anyone have recommendations for good models or lines? For example, are Dell XPS still good? I normally browse the web, stream things, occasional gaming/transcoding/programming. Prefer screen size 13-15" (up to 16 is a maybe).

IMO Dell XPS is probably the best Windows laptop you can get in terms of build quality. If you don't like those, then I would suggest maybe a T Series Thinkpad or something from Lenovo's Carbon series. These are a little bit higher end but if your budget is a bit more constrained then the Dell Inspiron line is also pretty good.

Acer is a solid computer.  They make the Concept models, which I've had good luck with.
