HDD manufacturers

For those who store large amounts of data on hard drives, do you stand by a particular manufacturer? I've always bought Western Digital because they are supposedly more reliable. Websites such as Backblaze put out regular reports showing the percentage of drives tested that failed, and Seagate is nearly always has a higher failure rate than WD/HGST.

Does anyone have any personal experience using drives from different manufacturers and could attest to their reliability?

WD has always been reliable to me, the only drives I've had fail were Seagate and a single WD drive that was over a decade old and run far past its lifespan

Gone across WD and seagate. No major differences, always go in with the expectation that a drive will fail so you don't have to be surprised

it really depends on the drive model. both wd and seagate have had certain high failure models
