HDR always looks weird?
#1
Everytime I use HDR on my tv it looks STRANGE. Some games look better, but others have very odd lighting changes and in some cases everything turns into this sepia tint.

I also noticed on Spider-man menus that are red appear as pink.

Is there some television setting I'm missing or is this my life now? Is it a thing with the TV being bunk itself?

It might not even be a T.V. thing. It could be the games themselves. Sometimes you need to tweak game settings if they are even available. And it might be the T.V. itself. Not all HDR is created equal. Look up Linus Tech Tips for more info on that.

There are subreddits to calibrate your Monitor and/or TV to have the right about of whites/darks. I find HDR on games were way too red before I stumbled upon those reddits Big Grin

Dude I’d recommend you to get that TV to a specialist. None of us can really answer your question because we can’t see anything but your words. As a small advice, u can go to an electronics store and tell the dudes out there that u wanna buy a tv. Tell em to put the hdr on, look back and forth, “test” the tv’s and see if those hdr’s look suspicious too. If they don’t, you shoud take ur TV to a specialist

It could be the game or just the HDR setting on your tv buggin out. I agree you probably need/want to calibrate it or if all else fails take it to be serviced if possible. Personally I cant really play or do shit on my main monitor without the HDR or HDR effect settings cause ive been spoiled by those vibrant brights and deep darks. It would be a shame to spend that much money on an HDR tv for the feature not to work properly. Free repair cause of warranty?

Most HDR is crap because all it does is increase color saturation and brightness of the image. In most cases HDR doesn't recreate reality and instead makes things look fake.
