I'm in the market for a new headset. I currently have a cheap headset (headphones + build in microphone). I was thinking of moving to a decent pair of headphones and a decent standalone microphone. People who have that kind of setup always have such great voice quality.

Is it worth it to get a separate headphones + mic, or are there decent headsets that are not overpriced? I mainly use it for gaming, movies, etc.

Standalone microphones are always going to be better especially if its an analog one like the AT2020. Headsets can be not terrible but theyre just always too close for the mouth and I hate the noise.
