How can this site expect quality threads when the incentive is to keep creating them?
#1
It seems like it's recommended to create threads to boost personal scores, and the personal scores exist to filter the site so it has improved content.

But if the goal here is to improve the quality of these boards by incentivizing the creation of threads, how can we ever develop long-lasting conversations when the very nature of the incentive will result in quantity over quality?

There are some pretty engaging threads here with a pretty slow rate of engagement.

You are right. But by the very nature, people want content. If you have an idea, on how to reduce spam, I would love to hear it

That’s what I’m saying? I’m a dumb noob here learning the rules

From what I have seen as of late, most of the time it's recycled stuff. So, until I see very good content, there's still a few HLB for example that I haven't seen, then I'll hold my bated breath.

On the non-porn side of things on this board, people don't respond to threads because they don't know if people reply to them. On a rare occasion, someone is able to quote someone in such a way that it notifies them that they were replied to, and they get credit for it. I've tried that, but it seems that quote button is broken. I think there would be more engagement if people knew that they were being replied to. Stimulate conversation on the General threads and people might just start doing more than just finding new ways to fap.

I wonder about this too

You cannot technically "reply" to a comment in a thread because non-paid members don't have a working quote or reply button. Same goes for PM. I have people PMing about certain things and I cannot simply reply, there's some broken functionalities that should let folks use after they've achieved X or something.

Which disincentivises people to actually reply and make engaging threads, and prevents the actual creation of community. It's like all the mods here want is for you to pay money and fap, and the rest is just a distraction.

Right, I've posted enough threads to warrant that I should be able to quote a user, but yeah, the fundamental conversation won't be there anymore because we cannot catch up with one another.

Which is bullshit. Being able to quote each other should not be based on how much money you pay, or how much content you give to the site (for free!), which they make money off of, but should just be there, period. How many actual porn sites have communities that can talk to each other and keep up with each other without paying money or submitting free porn? I wanna say Pornhub is one of the biggest of those. I've seen people post threads there on trying understand their fucking math homework, and plenty of users chime in to help. That kind of community should be here, but it isn't, and I don't get why.

Doesn't seem like liking a post makes a difference. I think it should. Maybe someone has nothing to add to the convo but appreciates a post.

Not really that possible when you only have 10 likes per 24 hours to use. That really should only be for unlocking the links in the actual porn threads, but should be unlimited in these threads.

I think it shouldn't be based on the creation of threads but rather the participation within them. There are tons of off-the-shelf spam blockers that detect short one-word answers or bot-style responses that bear little resemblance to previous ones.

That aside, by disincentivizing the constant creation of new threads, and incentivizing the responses to them, you maintain continuity of a thread, thereby creating a situation where people are actually observing the posts and reading them and if there was a "report" option to report spammers, that would then make it easier.

So - you get contribution points for productively posting to threads, with a maximum threshold to prevent mass spamming a bunch of threads, relative to the time spent online, frequency of visits, etc. You can also add a waiting period to also weed out those who have no interest in actually using the site.

Good question I don’t get it either

Isnt everyone here for the pts?

Ikr it’s annoying and the biggest reason people come here is to view content and they are just running away a lot of visitors by the absurd requirements to do certain things it’s crazy fr Angry
