To preface, I am not against athletes getting money. They are part of the reason why universities make a lot of money at games, and risk getting an injury that would hinder their ability to perform their future job in the NFL. That being said, it is so weird to hear that a player has signed a 1 year deal with a university (I forgot the player’s name). Micah Hudson, who is a former 5-star transfer out of Texas Tech has committed to A&M. When looking at his contact, it sounded ridiculous: $700/year payment, flights and hotels for his family every game up to 10 people, he decides if he’s injured or not, and he can dictate whether he comes back from his injury. Realistically, this sounds like he’s getting paid $700k and can choose whether he wants to play a game or not.
