i just wanna say that i live in a country where game of thrones isn't really a big thing. but after watching a couple of youtube videos where game of thrones is portrayed as something that is a must watch series that you cannot miss out. i seen a couple of clips about game of thrones and it looked really cool, the thing im curious is if game of thrones is not overrated and really that good?

Tbh? As a whole not really. First 3-4 seasons, maybe, and then it goes downhill really fast. My guess it was kind of novelty when it aired, pretty fresh take on TV series. If you really want a good show to get hooked on for hours I would strongly recommend breaking nad.

I read the books and was so happy to hear they are making a TV show. The first seasons hooked me up to good. But in the middle it starts to go down. I will not talk about the last season.
After all it was a great show and i had a lot of fun with it watching it with friends as it aired. But we now have a pandemic and sit all at home and no one is talking about it or rewatching it.

it is good until after season 6. Then the writing just went downhill from there. Very sad. They messed up the whole story and characters

Once the show started diverging from the books it started to go downhill but was still pretty entertaining for those of us who had been invested in the show. There were some insanely epic moments and visually the show was great. The last season was god awful and completely ruined what was building up to it.

I enjoyed it until around season 7ish, and then the 8th season plummeted like the depression in the stock market. Still, great show - good dialogue and acting, no plot armor, I would still recommend watching the show.

The battle of the bastards episode was the best filmed large scale medieval battle scene I've ever seen!!! But the story, i think, was better served in book form.

I thought it was great, except for the last season which was a huge letdown.
Pretty interesting/entertaining throughout, and some really satisfying "payoff" moments that had been building up though the seasons.
Final season definitely disappointing, but still worth a watch.

but it got to a point where i just kind of thought "eh guess ill watch"

Watch the first couple seasons without knowing what happens... it’s great in that case. Agree that the last season went downhill.
