I haven't played a single game of chess in my life, and I really loved it. It's not focused around chess in that you need to know or like the game, it's more of a character focused thing with a chess backdrop. Personally, I didn't start enjoying it until Ep2, so I'd recommend giving it a few episodes before you decide to stop.

I think it’s one of the most entertaining tv shows I’ve seen in a while. Maybe it’s the sitting home all the time having nothing to do... but I’d watch it again which I don’t do very often

It's pretty good. It's more about a story of a chess player and kind of draws on the same topics as other competitive activities
