I really enjoyed West of Loathing, it's hilarious and honestly has good gameplay, so obviously I wanted to look into anything else by the same dev. Obviously before West of Loathing they made the browser-based game Kingdom of Loathing, but last July they apparently participated in a kind of game jam, and made a roguelike in just 7 days: Kingdom of Rogueing. It's the same visuals and gameplay as West of Loathing but set up like a quick roguelike, with unlockable items and skills and the like. I just finished unlocking the last item, and to figure out how to do it I actually had to look into the code, as well as edit the code to properly work (the dev had a single variable off) for a previous item.
So, obviously, try it out, it's free on itch-io.
What games or game devs have you gone through a little extra trouble to play, but were so worth it?
