Knives Out 2
#1
So the sequel was confirmed a little while back, and judging by the budget it seems like this one could be massive.

Who here saw the first one? Personally I'm really looking forward to the sequel, however I'm curious in what direction they're going to take it.

Never really saw it but I will take your word on the ipdate

No idea where the second one will go but according to photos from IMDB it looks like it's in a mediterranean setting or something? It doesn't look that great and I do find the casting of Dave Bautista and Kathryn Hahn to be annoying.

I liked the first one because it was basically a classic old mystery story in a classic cottage/mansion setting but told slightly comedically and off-beat. There were some annoying Johnson-isms but it worked fairly well, mainly because of Daniel Craig.

But this second one I'm guessing won't be as good. I think it doesn't need to have a larger budget.

Batista I can kind of understand the annoyance, but Hahn? She's amazing, especially in comedic roles.

I like her too but that combination with Bautista and a sunny mediterranean setting by the ocean smells trouble. I think the problem is she's TOO good and detracts from the "unknown" feeling of the original cast. Jamie Lee Curtis and Christopher Plummer were great stars in the original but they fit the style of the older "royalty". While all the younger characters were played by lesser-known character actors. Hahn is too well-known I think and in everything it seems.

i did not really understand why the first one was so great

i enjoyed it but I did not really understand that

neway, sequal announced

The first one was pretty good. It was a little weird to see Chris Evans in that role but other than that I enjoyed it a lot. Hopefully the 2nd movie hits the same.

Cant wait for it to come out

I'm excited, personally. My only fear is that the plot won't be as tight as the first, in order to give all of the stars their own moments. The huge cast definitely makes it seem like we might get a more broad, scattered plot. Cautiously optimistic though!

The Knives Out was a very pleasant surprise. It's got one of the best ensemble casts in a while and while you think Daniel Craig sounding like Foghorn Leghorn would be a weird characterization it absolutely works.
