Matrix Resurrections.....aka woah I know Kung Fu pt 4
#1
So it looks like we are getting the new trailer for Matrix 4 aka Matrix Resurrections tomorrow. Who's excited and what are some guesses for the trailer/movie?

My guess:
Agent Smith in the movie but not advertised in the trailer
The neo we see isn't the neo from that last movies but but either a previous one or one after trilogy

Keanu Reeves said it's a beautiful love story, which scares the shit out of me. Neo's and Trinity's relationship pushed the action along, which is the right kind of relationship to have in a movie. I hope this doesn't fuck it up.

But what bothers me is that there's no Morpheus, and it seems like someone else is going to play him. The teaser trailer even had someone that sounded like a black dude trying his best to sound like a young Morpheus. And that whole 06:27 thing was really strange.

There is a Matrix 4 script that's been on the Internet for like 10 years now. I've read it twice. It's a great script.

Now that I think about it.... remember how the Oracle did something, and it cost her more than she wanted it to, so her appearance changed? The old videogame The Matrix Online had a plot where Morpheus died. I wonder if they're running from that point, and Morpheus died irl, but a remnant of him remains in the Matrix itself, which is why he will look so different.

Yeah just watched the trailer. So pumped. Like I'm sure there will be some stumbles with the story and script but the action looks insane.

Just watched the trailer. My best guess is that this movie is an alternative timeline where a lot of things are different. San Francisco instead of Sydney. He spends his youth not finding the Matrix and grows older taking blue pills. Morpheus didn't exist or is dead, so someone like him takes his place. And in this alternative timeline, he remembers everything from the first three movies. He's dead on the original timeline, but now experiences life on this one, and is trying to get his memories back from the original timeline, as is Trinity.

I also suspect that, in this timeline, the machines know which humans have the potential to do Neo-type stuff, and so they make sure that they are hampered by psychiatrists, who prescribe blue pills en masse. (Neil Patrick Harris as an evil psychiatrist is a nice touch.) So, on this timeline, the machines have delayed the inevitable from the last timeline.

I have no idea if I'm right or not. But fuck, I don't want to wait 'til December to see this.

>WHERE IS AGENT SMITH, I DEMAND AGENT SMITH!
He's dead, Jim.

Olichan do you think maybe that instead of an alternate reality this movie is like the machines trying to recreate the scenario that led to neos awakening. So like the whole movie will feel familiar but at the end we find out it was a simulation of the simulation. And the neo we see in the new movie is basically a clone or reanimated corpse.

No, I don't think so. The Machines wouldn't want to recreate the scenario that led to Neo's awakening. Rather, they would want to suppress it, or kill those with such potential. The fact that Neo and Trinity are alive and have only vague memories of their lives in the alternate timeline mean that all the Machines can do is suppress those with potential.

I downloaded the trailer and noticed a few more things.
>No Smith, but all the agents dress the same.
>They still use .50 cal Deagles.
>All the cop cars are the same Chevy Caprices used in Revolutions .
>All the cop cars use the same license plate sequencing system as well.
>This version of the Matrix takes place in 2021 (due to the tech everyone plays with) and not 1999.
>Neo is crying in that bathtub, meaning he's feeling a lot from the first timeline.
>The Oracle is also black, but looks different from the last one.
>The White Rabbit is tan.
>The black dude that initially dresses like Morpheus is not Morpheus because Neo tells him that he doesn't know Neo.
>All the Morpheuses from the first six incantations of the original timeline probably dressed similarly, based on that.
>This Morpheus offers Neo a chance to fly, rather than offering him the truth.
>In the original Matrix movie, flying was from Mescaline, and that led Neo to follow the White Rabbit.
>Neo's powers in the Matrix are way stronger than in the original timeline.
>Same with Trinity.
>The cat in the psychiatrist's office is the same cat from the scene in the original Matrix movie when they try to escape the mansion.
>The Machines probably realized something was up because they changed something in the Matrix while Neo was getting psychoanalyzed.
>Trinity is still in the big machine battery, and we see the beginnings of her leave. In contrast to her being free in the original Matrix movie.
>The human farms are a bit different than in the first three movies.
>We get to see something of the cities that were destroyed. The scene looked like the inside of a giant old church with buldings inside of it, or a massive mall, a city within a city.

That's what I took from it so far. Downloaded it and watched it a few times. Looks like a good story, but I wish they would've done the original Matrix Resurrections script. Don't know why the Wachowskis rejected it.

Me too. I love reading undeveloped scripts. I remember really liking the script for guillermo del toro's unproduced script of in the mountain of madness. Lovecraftian nightmares are perfect for del toro.

Script is labeled in green text right at the top middle of the page. It's a pdf you download. It's a satisfying read, and sets things up for a fifth Matrix movie. It reads better than what the current movie trailer shows.
