I sadly can't answer this since it comes out next year for pc (why must you do this Capcom) but everything that I've heard about Iceborne has been very positive. You should try look at some reviews on Youtube or some small gameplay to see if you'll like it.

Yes it is 100% worth it, there's 100s of hours worth of content just in the guiding lands alone once you get there.
