The future of AI, author: max tegmark. It has a novel about a AI dominating the world, but the book it is mostly about discussing the evolution of artificial intelligence and it's impact in society.

Going to recommend reading Slaughter House 5. a gripping book that has the author retelling his experiences in the second world war while also being a strangely told narrative where he is abducted my aliens.

Kinda of old style, but Caesar's Commentaries of the Gaelic War are amazing. Strongly recommend if you want a doorway to how propaganda and warfare worked at the time.
