What are some of your favourite bands/artists/musicians? What do you like most about them? (also, i've been meaning to get into new music for some time but i just don't know where to look, maybe you could recommend some of your favourites too)

If you haven't already, check out Jacob Collier. I like how his music is harmonically complex and has multi-layered instrumentals.

From my own experience, people usually are most receptive to music if they've already been exposed to it by accident e.g. at music festival, club, radio. Having that physical memory/feeling to relate to the music helps us like it.

I'm a huge metalhead if that's up your alley at all. Hugely diverse genre so assuming you're not familiar with metal at all, try anything off the Black Album by Metallica. It's a lot more "mainstream" compared to their previous 3 albums but there are still some killer songs on there.
