New Star Wars Trilogy
#1
Star wars is too valuable a property for Disney to leave as just one off films and disney+ shows. with rhian johnson and the game of thrones creators trilogies falling through and jon favreau and dave filoni apparently taking over the new trilogy what do you want to see in the new movies?

Old republic setting? a different galaxy completley? more stuff set in the empires rule? or go into the future after everyone has seemingly forgot about luke, rey and any other jedi or sith?

I want to see Kathleen Kennedy in an unemployment line due to unemployability in Hollywood. Then, a 4K release of the original despecialized trilogy. After that, have the old Star Wars Canon reinstated, and episodes 7-9 declared heresies as bad as the Catholic Church itself. Then, remake 7-9. They'll prolly have to use a CGI Carrie Fischer though.

I think the success of movies like Rogue One and shows like Mandalorian have shown that telling stories outside of the core saga can be successful, even more successful than trying to extend the core saga like they did in the ST. The ST suffered from too much character baggage in trying to tie everything to the OT while also bringing in new characters and plotlines. Stories like Mandalorian worked way better because it's totally independent from the core saga, aside from references and ties in like the Boba Fett and Ahsoka stuff from Season 2.

So to answer your question I think the new stuff would be better off set way in the past (Old Republic) or way in the future, where people like Luke have become legends but not really part of any story.

Honestly I just wish they’d let some game developers have the IP. Disney’s making too much cash off the movies to do it but independent studios always crushed SW games

is it confirmed Rian Johnson's trilogy is no longer happening? I actually liked TLJ and think if he got to work in a different part of the timeline with new characters, he'd make something everyone liked

#6
Yeah I like RJ's movies and think he's a big enough star wars fan that he would make something truly great

I think Kathleen Kennedy just wants to make the films she thinks will make money based on the social climate of the world and doesnt really care about any real story or meaningful characters. she just hits the diversity quota and everything else be damned (nothing against diversity but make it a good movie/story is all i ask)

i really wish more companies had the star wars ip, really enjoyed fallen order but would love to have seen 1313 completed. excited for ubisofts game.

I hated the last jedi, and felt rise of skywalker had to reset that film alot. i think rian is a good film maker, but he wanted to make his star wars movie and didnt think about what needed to come after. so that messed up the flow of the story for the whole ST. JJ should of done all three.

Last i read he has pulled out but his story about a sith princess going against her dad and his army is staying in place.

I would love to see an old republic setting

The franchise seems so dead. Mandalorian was great, though.

Quote: Mandalorian was great, though.
I loved how all the women that were anti-family were suddenly having baby cravings after seeing Baby Yoda.

Sweet that’s sick

I think Star Wars can be revived in the right hands. Look at how popular all these spin off shows and movies are.

If Disney is set on a new trilogy, I think they should stay away from the main Skywalker story. The first 6 films (plus spinoffs and tv shows) make the perfect story in my opinion. In that case, i think we should see a trilogy set far before the events of episode 1.

In addition, it would be great to see the origins of Palpatine in a spinoff show/film.

It is uncertain whether they have the ability to write new stories about the future. Wouldn't it make an old republic?

If the mouse had a brain it would make a trilogy from the Empire`s perspective. That would be so sick. But since its never gonna happen, the kennedy c*** is man made incompetence and the story writers are under the Disney thumb im not expecting anything watchable ever again when it comes to Star Wars. But hey.. miracles and such....
