The general consensus from people is that New World did not live up to expectations. I believe Amazon has a long way to go in terms of game development.

By contrast, Lost Ark seems to have been well received. This is likely due to the fact that Amazon only published the game, and did not develop it.

Does anyone think that Lost Ark's success could motivate Amazon to make major changes/improvements to New World?

I played Lost Ark for a good bit when it was first released.  I don't feel it has the staying power of something like a full fledged MMO.  To me it is more of a jump in and play for a bit and leave.  I agree with you on the issues with New World.  I really think that Amazon should have done more a single-player type game or something "smaller" before diving into the MMO space.
