I prefer Mac, but I mostly use business applications and educational tools. If you plan on gaming, Windows.

Light gaming can be done on Mac, but if you want to play heavier titles you have to go with Windows.

Since you want it for gaming then go Windows, also for brand I'd say check ASUS or DELL.
