Citizen Kane is good. Perhaps a bit too slow paced for todays standard, but i would recommend it if not only to watch a classic. I was really impressed by the quality.

Goodfellas is a classic older film, well i guess that depends on what you consider to be older.

Just watched My Cousin Vinny the other night and it was great. Dont make em like they used to

Really old there is Metropolis and M but they are soundless. Almost all Kurosawa movies are good. Felini's dolce vita. I would also recommend sunset boulevard and paths of glory for American ones
