My understanding is that this is all rumors and not true. I've been communicating with numerous Onlyfans creators and they say it's not true. I got in touch with Onlyfans support and they said basically it wasn't true and their policies have not and will not change.

They're not banning porn, but they are updating their policy to prohibit "extreme" porn (BDSM, genital mutilation, rape roleplay, anal fisting, that kind of thing) and certain fringe categories like scat, watersports, beastiality, etc. Creators who sell escort services on the platform will also be banned, regardless of the country they operate in.

Remember that scandal with pornhub having rape, revenge porn, and teenagers hosted on their website? Onlyfans is trying to prevent that PR nightmare from happening to them.

Mastercard is introducing restrictions on websites that they will process payments for, and if you host or handle explicit material, they won't process your payments, and they are likely to be just the first. Visa and Amex etc won't be far behind.

OF is just trying to clean out the material that will breach the new rules before Mastercard and others cut them off.

If creators start their own sites, they still need a payment processor, so they will need to adhere to these rules unless they go full crypto or something, and then their revenue will drop like crazy, because most people still want nothing to do with crypto.
