OnlyFans and mass acceptance of porn industry?
#1
I've recently noticed that with the popularization of onlyfans, there's been far more highly educated people with Ivy league or equivalent degrees entering the porn industry.

Anyone else noticed similar trends? What are your thoughts?

Interesting. I think:
1) porn has been decentralized in a major way - thanks to new technologies, performers can cut out the middle man and make way more money than otherwise possible
2) the profits from being an onlyfans star are so large and so public, and it is so easy to sign up, that many people are drawn to this.
3) those from educated backgrounds, e.g. the famous duke girl, get a natural boost just by virtue of coming from an elite school. For whatever reason, people are drawn to that. It's like, "this person is not some random ho"

Yeah I agree, with the rise of onlyfans it makes it far more accessible for anyone to do it and girls probably see the money that can be made which draws them to it.
I think the media has also played a big role, quite often I see articles of this person makes X amount of money on onlyfans which helps to reduce the stigma associated with it.

Yeah agreee. Onlyfans seems to be losing stigma, although initially seemed to be more of an American thing? SEeing a few more Australians getting on it now, maybe people are seeing the earnings potential of it?

Seems to be a combination of OnlyFans being a buzzword in the media right now as well as a continuation of the sexual liberation but now entering the digital marketplace. I think one of the main positive of OnlyFans is it allows far more diversity in providing for a variety of fetishes with performers able to create specific niches for themselves and earning notoriety for it. I don't know if I'm the only one who's felt that the current porn industry feels a little stagnant in its content and not trying new things in this digital era (if I remember the only thing experimented with so far is VR Porn which was just meh).

I actually quite like it, the stigma of porn being for dropouts if no longer valid for this day and age.

Yeah I also enjoy how it’s a lot more realistic than most porn scenes

Definitely bugging mainstream

New Social norm

its definitely just becoming a viable source of income. it's almost kind of sad to go through schooling when there are better ways to make money like only fans... feels like it defeats the purpose of getting an education at a university..

It’s definitely more accepted now than it was 10 years ago, I remember it being pretty taboo when a celebs nudes leaked

OF kinda helped this in the major way. Before I knew of OF, Patreon was a big platform for YouTubers and content creators but with OF emerged, I feel like it designated for porn or sexual related contents, you got kids 18-19 yo with 10-20k followers on IG started OF and slowing post nudes and stuff, it's crazy

I definitely noticed a similar trend as well
