Good on ya for picking up the instrument!
Had a piano teacher for 3+ years, took a break, then taught myself slowly over 3+ more. Learn basic music theory first. Know the basics of scales, arpeggios, time, key, dynamics and etc. so you can build your finger dexterity and muscle/brain memory. This was how I was taught by my teacher. But then I think I learned more when I was studying the pieces and songs I liked. Helps with the motivation. Plus, really knowing the music helps with nailing the finer details.
