It's kinda sad how these type of games just seemed to have faded after the 7th generation. I'm aware of EA's disaster of a game and I wish it could have been "it".
I'm not too keen on the indie market though so if anyone could you recommend a game that gives the same vibes as Armored Core I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

You can try "BattleTech", it is a turn based strategy game with mechs. There are also the "MechWarrior" games which takes place in the same universe but is closer to a first person shooter or third person shooter. Finally you can take a look at the "Transformers" games made by High Moon Studios.
