WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD!
So, I've just recently started watching this show. I have a couple theories and I'm wondering what others think about it.
First theory: What if the Rick who killed 137's family was an aged Evil Morty? Think about it, they look alot alike since, from what I understand, Morty is the grandson of Rick. What better way to get rid of a bunch of Ricks than to pose as one of them, kill his family and encourage him to go on a revenge trip.
Second theory: What if the Rick who killed 137's family was 137 himself. Let me explain. Maybe one day someone offers 137 a chance to return to the life he left behind, he accepts only to realize that he was the only man who can protect the multiverse from an evil being hell bent on destroying reality itself. But, to reverse the damage and bring himself back, Rick has to face his greatest challenge yet. He has to kill his own family in front of his younger self, putting himself in a position where he'll be hunted by said younger self and setting forth a chain of events that returns him back to his old self again. Then he faces the entity and saves the entire multiverse.
I'm sure these theories aren't original or anything, just a thought I had.
