Ronaldo and Coca Cola

Did a small gesture by soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo really cause Coca-Cola to lose $4 billion?

Yes. Investors are really that insane that something that small causes them to overreact and drop all their stock and make it lose value. Then again, the stock market is a form of gambling where retail investors have a greater chance of losing money than a drunk at a casino.

Did any1 see the Scotland player ask if there was any coke? ?

#4
Kind of impressive, no? I was surprised aswell and there werent any other indicators that would have caused that sharp of a shift

the media is making it out to be a bigger deal than it is because its ronaldo. intraday market volatility is normal. coca-cola didn't lose 4 billion dollars lol. go look at their stock right now. its pretty much back to where it was before

Good 'ol investors either stupid and pay attention to the media, or investors that create events to drive down price to pick them up on the cheap. World's largest racket.

The reason for this isn't the big investors. Coca cola has a lot of public stocks and small investors that you see in your daily life, the ones who invest ranging from $5 to $50000, are the ones causing such instant spikes and falls. They are trading daily, so they buy and sell a lot in a day. Big investors are generally in it for the long run, so I doubt anything as little as this would cause them to sell their shares.

Yes its a lot of money, but only a small % of their value. No big deal

They normally do that with pro players, but I think someone fucked up and didn't.

It similar with bitcoins and tesla

Ronaldo com sua grande influencia com certeza fez perder lucro por conta da rejeição
Ronaldo, with his great influence, certainly lost profit due to rejection

Ronaldo didn't lose a damn bit. In fact, he actually got some free advertising from it, and that always makes your popularity go up.

Maybe in the short term, but I doubt it'll be noticeable even a month out from now. The fundamentals of the company are all the same, and it's not like Ronaldo sparked a mass exodus from coke drinking. These things just spark short-term fluctuations.

It's incredible to see how individuals in sport have more power than ever. I hope that more of them use their gifts and platform to create positive changes in society.
