I’ve seen four of the Safdie Brothers films (Good Time, Heaven Knows What, Uncut Gems, and Daddy Longlegs) and I truly don’t understand why people love and celebrate them so much. I feel that their camerawork is engaging and good enough, but these films never have any staying power, nothing to think about, and nothing to feel other than a muted anxiety. What makes them good?
