Sam Raimi's Spiderman was my introduction to Spiderman and for the longest time I thought for sure that Spiderman shot webs out of his wrists, and found it weird that all the later iterations had him use a device to shoot webs. Why does Peter Parker use web shooting technology? It actually made more sense to me that he shoots webs if that's just part of his body, but why does he use web cannisters? Is it because spiders shoot webs and therefore he wants to shoot webs?

Im sure there is an explanation out there somewhere but my headcanon is that he got bit by a spider that wasnt able to create webs and he felt the need to have them to fit with his "theme" so he improvised
