I've always heard good things about it, and I like mafia movies, but there are tons of episodes so it seems like a real commitment. I'm especially worried that the episodes decline in quantity with so many.

It's a big time commitment.However if you enjoyed something like Breaking bad it shouldn't be a problem.

I highly recommend it. I don't consider myself a huge fan of magia/gangster movies or the genre in general but I really liked it. Long shows if you enjoy them don't feel slow. Once in a while I'll youtube some memorable clips.
