Solidworks for 3d printing?
#1
I am recently very much interested in 3d printing,
Can i use solid works to design and use the design for 3d printing?,
Or is it necessary to learn blender for 3d printing?.

I feel either of them should be able to work! Be sure to check your 3D printer's compatible file format when it comes to the actual printing process. Choose which program is most comfortable for you to model

Technically both would work, but you'll find that solidworks is wayyyyy better when it comes to physical designs. Blender is better for things like 3D art and VFX, while solidworks lets you put in dimensions and very specifically design your parts, Blender doesn't let you do that. So if you're making mechanical parts that rely on dimensions, I'd go with solidworks, if you're just looking to make some cool designs or something, blender is probably better. It really comes down to what you're looking to do.

i'd go with blender based on the price.. why adapt a really expensive tool that is not well suited to 3d printing, when there is a superior free option

Solidworks works perfectly
