I somehow missed all the hype and news from 2017-2019. I've caught up on Fortnite news/lore retroactively but frankly, the game never spoke to me and I had no interest in playing it. I had neither a positive or negative opinion on it.
However, my friend introduced me to Fortnite hrough the new Zero Build mode and found it a breath of fresh air among all the other FPS shooters I've played. Zero Build lets me focus just on mechanics and movement which is nice for me, coming from Destiny & CoD mostly. The guns are braindead stupid to shoot but the aesthetic and community make it so fun that I don't even rage when I die lol.
So now I've stumbled upon Fortnite in 2022, few of my friends still play it but I feel like I've largely come in at a time when all of the novelty has worn off for most. What is the state of Fortnite in 2022, to yourself and to your personal community?
