So in Japan the color purple is associated with death. That is why a lot of animes have the villain have a purple aura or be colored purple specially when he is a big bad. In bolivia the color yellow is associated with wealth which is why there is a tradition of people putting on yellow underwear for new years eve to invite wealth in their life. Does your country have particular associations with certain colors that are not common in the rest of the world? If so, what are they?

This topic is fascinating. In Italy black, and in China white, represents death. They are special colors for several reasons: opposites, have strong psychological impact. The meaning society attributes to death might influence which one to pick. However, I can't really figure out how Japan come up with purple.
