Anybody have experience playing Temtem?

I wanted to find a lighthearted monster-collector type game for PC and came across this.  It's an MMORPG so I'm a little concerned that it would be too grindy, or not very viable as a casual/solo player.  Anybody have any thoughts?

I also found the Nexomon series, which seems really similar to Pokemon but also considering it as well.
