The Lord of the Rings which is better the books or the movies?
#1
I'm gonna go with the books, although I am a tremendous fan of Peter Jacksons movies. What does everyone else think?

#2
Both of them are good mate!

#3
the movies are great don't get me wrong but the books are obviously classics.

#4
I liked the movies better the books are bit hard to get through these days.

#5
Going for the movies on this one

#6
The books leave you to your own imagination which in its own way makes them always better than movies but the films help visualize amazing and beautiful scenes

#7
Yeah one more point to the books. They are classic.

#8
I mean, they are both art of the highest order so can’t choose.

#9
Going for the books.

I don't think there's a catch-all answer. It depends how you want to be entertained. The movies are some of my favorites, but I'm also glad I read the books. Someone with a short attention span or who needs big battle scenes to keep them entertained wouldn't like the books. There's so much description, and the written battle sequences or other "exciting" parts are comparatively short.

#11
Been meaning to read the books, hopefully I enjoy them as much as the movoes

#12
I think books are way better in content, but the movies have the powe to put more emotion to the scenes. in my opinion

#13
Slightly on a tangent but I can’t wait for the TV series!!

#14
Going for the film

#15
my head says books, my heart says movies.

for the hobbit its the book. no question

#16
books only because it fleshes the wolrd out and gives things time to breath.

*world haha

#17

#18
i liked them both a lot. worth to read and watch

#19
Books are always richer
