Thoughts on investing into meme stocks?
#1
Recently AMC and other meme-stocks have been going up by a lot. Is it worth to jump in on the hype and also ride the wave up? Or is it a pump and dump that’s likely about to end soon?

At this point it's probably too late to jump in. If you don't really care about losing money then sure you could probably throw a couple hundred in but it's really just gambling at this point.

Meme cryptos boom so why not

#4
Meme cryptos, yes.
Meme stocks, not so sure anymore because they are more easily manipulated by corporations, so its probably a bit too late unless you buy at a crazy dip.

Just do buy orders when it's low, you will want to short though.

AMC/GME are fucked atm because of the war between the retail buyers and the hedge funds. The hedge funds got caught trying to short stocks, and then got fucked hard. The only time meme stocks are going to be valuable is when you find out that the hedge funds are planning on shorting something. Then you buy it low, and then put a ridiculously high price on the stocks you bought, because they have to buy them back at whatever price you put on it. But that takes some skill in watching the market, and maybe even some gray area insider info. When you hear them talk shit about a stock, that's a sign that they're planning on shorting that stock.

It's funny but you shouldn't influence people to spend their life savings on a meme

#8
I don't think AMC is a meme stock. It's probably gonna go up(not by a 1000000% but up) because of covid restrictions going up. So I think investing in AMC is not a bad idea.

#9
Be careful, some made a lot of money but some lost a shit ton too

#10
dogecoin was best

#11
Just HODL onto conventional stocks on warren buffett

#12
Sure, but you're just betting on the timing to make sure you're not the last one to hold before it starts to drop. Nothing wrong with that as long as you recognize you're not "investing" for any kind of value.

#13
Not really worth all the stress

#14
^is there really stress though?

#15
Buy the rumour, sell the news. If a stock is on the news, you're likely too late for the moon. Disregard if you want to treat stocks as gambling.

#16
Until Elon decides to inflate/deflate, surprised he hasn't been charged yet with fraud.

#17
Memestocks are basically gambling, don't hold for too long.

#18
gme aint even begun squeezing yet

I agree that it's basically gambling, you can win big or lose big

You need to devote time to it. Either to see what’s going to be the next meme and get in early. Or to watch the ticker and essentially daytrade.
