Thoughts on virtual conventions?
#1
Big fans of gaming, tabletop, and anime conventions.

2020 closed them all down physically, but they tried to do with virtual ones.

I don't know about you, but I don't call that a con until you cram 6 people in a hotel room trying to save a few bucks.

Your thoughts?

I really enjoyed DC fandome. I've never been able to attend the bigger, in person events, so it was nice to be able to watch all those reveals on my phone. All throughout the course of a day

Depends on your personality and the crowd, conventions are the best way to meet people you only contact thru online, forums, and chatrooms.

I met hundreds of casual friends at conventions, otherwise too awkward to meet in other settings like out for coffee or whatever.

They're pretty lame and lackluster. No face to face interaction. Seeing people you don't often see is a bright spot of conventions. Otherwise interactions virtually with them is probably the same as the platform you normally interact with them on

I think it’s dumb and just a way to steal money from desperate people.
