I've been trying to post threads, including a share, but only a couple have gone through. None of them were spammy, at least I don't think so. I know the threads are verified manually but the ones that went through were not the first two I tried to post.

It'd be nice to be able to see that a post is waiting to be verified, and know why it wasn't accepted if it wasn't.

I think the admin and/or mods oversee the thread submission form directly, its not reddit where there are beep boop robot doing things on their own

yes, from what i gather, the admin/mods review each prospective thread - timing of approval is variable, depending on when the mods/admin are active

i had a similar question, but just judging from what i've seen, it can take anywhere from 1 hour to 6 hours (though ymmv)
