Hey guys so im new and I had a question. So in order to post a new thread and get contribution points for it, it needs to be first approved by a moderator? Because it says a mod needs to approve it before "becoming visible" but does that mean that I only get the points after it becomes visible and approved?

Yes that is correct. You only get points and credits once the post gets approved.

I'm pretty sure making threads gives you more points than posting normally. Posting normally gives you one point while making threads gives you more. I forgot the actual amount but there should be a thread where it explains the difference in points

Yeah of course its normal. Its just that when you make a thread, you should be given more credits I think? Its either when u make a thread u get more credits or contribution points. I'd have to check cuz I forgot but I probably think your contribution level is raised by more than one. You still get like one credit for the thread but u get more for contribution level. Then again, I'm not an expert and I'd have to look around.

I found a link that explains stuff but it doesn't give the specifics on point distribution based on threads or posts. It just explains positive or negative.

Basically what blanco said. Just make threads and posts. But there's a limit (I think 20 posts) to reduce spam, so at most per day, you can get 20 credits

Seems like a post will get you 1 credit and a thread will get you 5 contribution level which seems a little wonky because to see premium links you need to have a high enough contribution level so you need atleast 6-7 threads before you can see a link as well as 10 credits to unlock it.
