I've used Nord VPN, ExpressVPN, and IVPN, and found IVPN to be more helpful safety wise.

All three didn't have any problems with the internet speed though.

both nord and express are good, if you have some free time you can rent a vps and make your own vpn server :p

Mullvad is not cheap in comparison to its competitors but it offers the best privacy of VPN services that I have seen. If hosting your own VPN on a VPS is not an option then Mullvad is a pretty good service.

I don't know how good the speed is with Mullvad but if your VPN is located far from your own network it will generally be slower.
