I know sometimes for whatever reason animation companies decide to stop following the manga and come up with their own story and it usually ends up ruining it. Things like promised neverland tokyo ghoul etc. Also have their ever been any times where the story is good or if not better after deciding to stop following the manga because if so i'd be really curious to find out more.

Promised neverland. Watched season 1 when it aired. Then heard bad things from season 2. Made me lose all motivation to watch it now. Shame because s1 was so good.

I like Captain Tsubasa manga and the new iterations in anime just lack the pacing of the manga

Easily Yesterday wo Utatte, Sing Yesterday for me. The anime skipped half of the manga and the final episode was the final chapter of the manga, skipping many characters and what made the ending actually worth its salt as well as the development of one of the main female leads.
