A lot of assembly jobs got axed when robots got decent, although that probably created servicing jobs for when the robots malfunction.
Cashiers are becoming scarce at places that can afford automated checkout lines. Now they only have one or two employees there in case the computer acts up vs. having a cashier at every single register.
