There is a difference between someone who plays video games and someone who is a gamer. The obsession is most of it hahaha.  For me, it was Warcraft 3 which I became very good one summer after being unemployed hahaha. After that, gaming obsessions became more common for me. 

What game made you transition from a a casual player to a more frequent and obsessive one?

Combination of Warcraft 3, Counter Strike 1.6 and World of Warcraft. went from playing games when I had nothing to do to basically playing during all my free time. Not as into gaming as I used to but i still play some stuff-

I’d have to say super mario bros on my nintendo ds got me started on the grinding of gaming but competitively id have to say call of duty black ops 2 is where it all started for me. Black ops 1 I had but at the time I just played it to pass time because i didnt really get how to play since i was so young. But in 4th grade on bo2 I grinded like crazy by 5th grade i was dropping streaks every game and hitting 80+ kill games. After that I just fell in love with the black ops series as a whole from zombies to multiplayer. 2 years ago when I was on summer break going into my sophomore year I reached top 600 players in the united states for black ops 4 and man did i grind forever on that game to be there. Overall call of duty made me into the gamer i am today.

For me it was Starcraft: Brood War.  Mostly the custom maps; I'd play for hours on our garbage dial up connection but it was the first batch of real time strategy games I'd ever played and the competition was great!
