In terms of IPs owned, they have nowhere near the amount of franchises compared to a decade or so ago. Nowadays, most of their "hyped" releases is indie, which I'm not saying is bad, but is not helping them stand out among the competitors. If I had to call it, I would even think Nintendo is not going to last much longer in the market and the main thing holding them together is their built-up billion $ budget
