#1
I'm curious what other people think when they hear American food. I know regional American foods such as southern bbq and soul food, but are there foods that identifiably American?

I believe that Burgers of all types, cornbread, and biscuits and gravy are American staples. There are many more like Hotdogs, Philly cheesesteak, Chocolate-chip cookies, BLT, Fortune cookies, Macaroni and cheese, and New England clam chowder. Basically, rich and filling foods are American cusine.

I would say Pizza as most of the world knows it is American. Give me a New York slice any day!

On the top of my head burgers is the only thing I can think of.

Not much culture to it but at least it tastes good. Hamburgers pizza hotdogs lmao

Fried chicken is another one that feels very american. Places that go for American food here tend to have that “diner” feel with the booths and the jukebox etc. They tend to sell big greasy burgers, fried chicken, big shakes...

Burgers and hotdogs, clearly
