The Rai-Den from Resident Evil 3 and Gravity Gun from Half Life 2.
The Rai-Den was really fast and the sound it makes was so unique.
The Gravity Gun is a master piece!

Ooh good call on the gravity gun, that was such a fun mechanic! I had to dig a little deep. I loved this railgun with a wall penetrating thernal scope in Red Faction 2. I killed at least two bosses without even entering the room!

Not necessarily the most powerful, but the best feeling one i can name off the top of my head is the Halo 2 Battle rifle. Other than that I'm very partial to hand cannons in most shooters
