What are your thoughts on non-traditional sports such as motorsports or epsorts? Do you consider them sports and its participants "athletes"? If you do consider them sports, is there a difference between a pro esports player and a pro chess player?

Im not very interested in many traditional sports (basketball, football, etc). But i am interested in both motorsports and esports and wanted to hear some of your opinions on them.
