What movie/tv streaming service has the best library
#1
Recently tried HBO max on a 7 day free trial and I thought it had the best selection of movies and tv shows.

What is good on HBOMax.... almost nothing.

I get HBOMax for free through my cell phone service. It usually (but not all the time) has some stuff that Amazon doesn't have. Amazon allows you to access other streaming services for a fee.
Each streaming service seems to have theri own homegrown stuff, and then access to some other content. So I think it comes down to the fact that each services has one piece of the media empire and that's it.

All these services suck. They change their content so often that it's impossible to gauge who has the best older/classic content.

In terms of new content, they are all also constantly churning out "new" content with very little sociological rationale so it's literally just noise.

The uber-competition of film studios with limited theater availability made a competitive marketplace where you had to deliver quality. Now the "quality" isn't so much in the production value or story, it's micro-targeting audiences. So there is just a bunch of filler original content that is "passable" because it's been so aggressively microtargeted, it will feel vaguely decent.

I'm not fooled though. It's mostly streaming trash and I find myself always seeking out normal movies and TV shows that existed pre-streaming "content-creator" era.

Same here. There's very little new that's worth watching.

Netflix is still the front runner, but they are losing their lead

Netflix is burying itself, like every company these days, in an excess of data-based customization. The majority of content is hidden because of Netflix's obnoxious customization based on previous viewership, which effectively filters you into a bubble.

There is so much content that I would never see if I didn't manually look up content lists with the secret Netflix content codes.

Netflix needs to stop it's data analytics approach and focus on showing the customer all the different options. And they need to get out of the business of making Netflix originals. They suck.
