I'm new to football. No idea what's going on when watching it. What is the easiest way to learn it?

The best way is to just watch games, it will take a little while to understand all the rules and everything but the games generally follow a similar pattern so repetition might be best.  If you are in the USA, Nickelodeon is broadcasting the playoff game that will also be shown on CBS.  It is geared to younger audience so you will have to put up with cartoonish things along with Spongebob, but they don't get into the tactical part and more of the rules explanation.  It's pretty informative and helps understand the basics of the game.
