Once you complete a series, there will always be a character who impress you unless the story is sh#t.

For me, the character would be Ippo (hajime no ippo), the story was good throughtout the whole series and the main character's buildup was really well done. The way he fought through his hardships without giving up always inspires me. 

It's definitely a worth watch if you're into Sports/boxing.
