Why do movie adaptations change pronunciations of names?
#1
I'm thinking of movies like The Last Airbender and Venom. Aang and symbiote are both changed. I feel like it doesn't respect the source material when the name is changed for whatever reason. For example, Aang is literally the main character and it feels like the movie is so bad it even gets his name wrong.

Them not saying Aang right was so bad. Did no one watch the show before they make the movie?

Make it easier for newer audiences to say

there is no movie in Ba Sing Se.

seriously, no one considers it as an ATLA adaptation simply bc of how horrible it was. but yeah, idk how they fucked up with the pronunciation either.
