I’m curious why people think there is such a heavy slanting towards Mega.

Is it preference based? Is Mega more user friendly? Until recently has Mega been more lawless in regard to copyright restrictions?

I know that you can download as much as you can with mega free account if you can wait for long period of hours. [i.e. 10 hours]

I've had google drive not allow sharing of copyright works before. I know mega will block some too but I'm not sure of the criteria for them.

Used to be that it was more private/protected, but that has changed.

I think you found your answer in your question buddy. The reason mega is so much more popular, or at least one of the primary reasons, is that they are far more loose with type of postings allowed there

they allow pretty much anything so people start using it and it become their default way of downloading things
